“Back in the Hustle (But Doing It God’s Way)”

A Holy Hustle with Raquel Comeback Series

Hi… it’s me again.

I know. It’s been a while.

Not a cute little “I took a weekend off” kind of while… More like a “life hit fast-forward and I forgot to hit publish” kind of while.

And listen.. I wish I could tell you I’ve been off somewhere sipping iced coffee in silence, journaling in a perfectly color-coded notebook…

But the truth?

I’ve been reheating the same cup of coffee since 7:15 a.m. Managing snacks, schedules, school, life, emotions, and at least one child asking me a question through the bathroom door.

✨ Motherhood. But make it chaotic. ✨

So why did I stop writing?

Honestly?

I didn’t have the words.

Not because God wasn’t speaking… But because I was overwhelmed trying to listen.

Life got loud. Responsibilities got heavier. And somewhere between being “everything for everyone,” I got quiet.

But here’s what I’ve learned in the quiet:

God doesn’t need my perfection; He just wants my presence.

And even when I felt like I had stepped back… He hadn’t.

Not once.

And then this verse kept coming back to me:

“And who knows but that you have come to your royal position for such a time as this?”

— Book of Esther 4:14

Whew.

That one will sit with you.

Because if I’m being real? I used to think that verse meant big, bold, spotlight moments.

But now?

I think it also means:

  • showing up when you feel stretched thin

  • choosing faith when your schedule is full

  • writing again… even when it feels messy

Maybe this season wasn’t a pause…

Maybe it was preparation.

Because God doesn’t waste quiet seasons.

He builds in them.

He refines in them.

He reminds you who you are when everything else is trying to tell you who you should be.

And let me just say this…

I don’t write because I have it all together.

If that were the requirement, this blog would’ve shut down permanently somewhere between basketball practice, Zoom School, and me googling 👉 “what’s for dinner that requires zero effort but feeds six people?” 😂

I write because this is where I meet God.

Right here.

In the honesty. In the mess. In the middle of real life.

So here I am… again.

Not perfectly polished. Not caught up. Not promising consistency like I’m suddenly a morning routine influencer (because… no 😂).

Just… obedient.

Showing up because I feel called to.

If you’ve been in a quiet season too…

Let me remind you of this:

You’re not behind. You’re not forgotten. You’re not disqualified.

You’re being positioned.

✨ For such a time as this. ✨

And this?

This is just Week 1.

We’re not easing back in over here.. we’re walking back in with faith, coffee, and just enough chaos to keep it real.

With love, faith, and a reheated cup of coffee (again),
Raquel 💜
